Ironically have a stack written and set to go live late this week on the same topic. In terms of what you've written it's totally in alignment, but a BIG addition. The type of "top down" creative that comes from the ad agency and is produced and then placed doesn't WORK in this new world. It isn't authentic to the platforms and thus doesn't just look like an "ad" but just isn't remotely believable or "real." We need user produced content that may be on "message" but in the authentic voice of the creator and their "brand." This means a) agencies are FAR less important b) advertisers (and campaigns) have to give up control and "let go"
I’m starting to try and get more involved with local politics here in Florida. I think the democrats here need a serious change in their approach to campaigning. I’ll definitely share this with anyone I volunteer with!
This is an accurate appraisal of the way to reach persuadable voters. A little attention should be paid to the working poor who are not young. The demographic I am thinking of is people living on subsistence wages who are not stupid, but don't have the bandwidth for these cutesy online chatting platforms. Or old people on fixed incomes who are also in extremely precarious financial situations. Their political views are being manipulated by Republicans on free TV without Democratic rebuttals. A lot of these people are Hispanic and watching free Spanish language channels and free streams. Democrats really need to see what is getting pumped out by Republicans on these platforms.
I'm not talking about the traditional TV stations but rather the alternative channels available through an HDTV antenna. There is another world out there of free TV. In large metro areas like here, you can get a pretty good amount of content on the rabbit ears. There are tons of "low rent" free TV with old TV shows, PBS, etc. You can also get a Roku or other streaming device for less than twenty bucks and see all kinds of old movies and shows for free. There is no news at all on this. What there is is tons of cheap ads.
These ads permeate the viewers consciousness, even if they think they are tuning them out. Someone with some expertise in advertising should take a look at the obvious Republican ad technique here and get in there to mix it up with Republicans. This is happening right now. Republicans are saturating free TV with ads harshly demonizing Democrats. It is pretty straight forward brain washing. We saw SIX ads for John Cornyn in a row the other day.

I agree.
Thr Dems need to take better aim and stop shouting dreck and start advocating a compressive, well funded news alliance.
