Santa’s Inbox Is Full… of Fundraising Emails?!
PSA: Santa Is Not Donating to Your Campaign
As many of you know, I pitch in to help Santa now and then - logistics, scheduling, the occasional “where did we leave the reindeer?” situation.
And to do that, I have a few very official sounding email accounts:
Nicholas.Claus@…
Santa.Claus@…
(You know… for professional North Pole correspondence.)
Well.
Some enterprising fundraising vendors apparently scraped those addresses, because this week my inbox has been FLOODED with messages starting with:
“Nicholas, you haven’t donated to my campaign yet this year. Will you give me a chance to explain why I’m asking you to make your first donation today?”
I found it interesting that a number of candidates had the exact same thought and sent me the exact same email around the same time. It must be fundraising Elf magic. So, I finally replied and asked where I could send coal - and politely informed them they are now on the Naughty List for stealing Santa’s emails.

But honestly… if I am getting fundraising spam to my Santa accounts, it makes you wonder:
How much money is being raised from accounts belonging to… the North Pole?
“Yes, I told the vendors they’re on the Naughty List. You can’t just scrape Santa’s email and expect no coal.”
At this point I’m convinced a lot of the digital fundraising universe is just campaigns yelling into the void at fictional characters.
Anyway — if you see “Nicholas Claus” donating anywhere, please know:
It wasn’t me
It might’ve been a reindeer
The email vendor is DEFINITELY getting coal

And I can't get rid of FOTUS emails from my Spam no matter what I do
I donate to Berinie Sanders via Act Blue once and now I am absolutely hounded on all media (and text tho not so much decently)
